As part of the annual Owens Corning™ Roofing Platinum Awards ceremony, Sela Roofing and Remodeling  was among a distinguished group of national finalists honored with a Platinum Award as a Top Performer in shingle recycling.  In 2011, each of the five award recipients in this category collectively recycled more than 10,000 tons of shingles as part of the Owens Corning Roofing and Asphalt Shingle Recycling Program.

“Sela Roofing and Remodeling  is honored to have been selected as a national recipient of this year’s Top Performer Award in the shingle recycling category for our annual volume of recycled roofing material,” said Pat Hall, Operations manager, Sela Roofing and Remodeling “As part of the Owens Corning Roofing and Asphalt Shingle Recycling Program, we are proud to bring the cost-effective sustainable solution of recycling shingles to our customers and community.”

“The Owens Corning™ Roofing Platinum Award winners were chosen based on their proven market and industry leadership representing the best of the best,” said Matt Lawver, Contractor Services Leader, Owens Corning Roofing and Asphalt.  “Owens Corning Roofing is proud of the success Sela Roofing ad Remodeling  has achieved within our Platinum Roofing Network for implementing shingle recycling  to help divert the tear-off materials from landfills for use in valuable applications like road construction and repair.”

Introduced to the building industry in 2009, the Owens Corning Roofing and Asphalt Shingle Recycling Program encourages roofing contractors to practice sustainable building practices by providing support throughout the build process. As the nation’s first and premier program of its kind, Owens Corning Roofing and Asphalt, in alliance with Heritage Environmental Services, a national waste management  company, has helped facilitate the recycling of more than 80,000 tons of asphalt shingles.
